- We're playing a very special show in the UK on the 31st August. This show will be at The Social in London. Doors are at 7pm and it's 5 quid to get in. Besides the Reading/Leeds Festival, this will be the only UK show we're going to be playing for a while. So make sure you get down to this one.

| What's the likelihood of me getting in? Considering it's an 18+ even and I'm 17? I would HATE to miss this, they won't be around for a long while after that show | |

Have you asked the band? Maybe you could be on their crew for the night.

Have you asked the band? Maybe you could be on their crew for the night. Very true - they seemed to be pretty helpful getting people into the gigs at Leamington and Birmingham!

| Makes sense, but I don't really know how to get through to them? They don't reply on facebook as often as they used to | |

I guess all you can do is keep asking! Apparently there is only 100 tickets for the show too.

| I've just done this unofficial poster for the gig at the Social, based on my all time favourite rock poster, The Who at the Marquee.

| So here is my blog-review-style gig review: Sharks played a brief, but solid headline gig at the Social in London yesterday. Andrew Bayliss' guitar playing was as superb as ever, as was Sam Lister's relentless drumming, while Sharks' original bassist, Andrew Lovelock, made a welcome one-off appearance on bass. The night though clearly belonged to James Mattock, who literally could not be contained by the Social's small basement stage. When he wasn't towering over the audience, he was either up against the wall, or scraping his Gretch on the low ceiling. By the end, James' only way off stage was by crashing through Sam's drum kit. The Who would have been justly proud, not just of the antics, but also of the spirit on show last night. Set list: Trains, Fallen On Deaf Ears, Police On My Back (The Clash cover), No Gods (new song), It Threatens, Sweet Harness, Arcane Effigies (new song), It All Relates, Glove in Hand. three more of my deliberately dark and blury photos at https://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/media/set/?set=a.251488548225405.63544.100000927865668&type=1P.S: I finally got to meet our very own 'gloveinhand' and hope that next time we manage a bigger meet-up (age allowing ). | |

| another review from http://www.the-fly.co.uk/words/reviews/live-reviews/10601Sep 02 2011 11:12 am Sharks The Social, London 31/09/2011 A lot has changed for Sharks since they last played a gig in England. Just before spending some four months on the Warped Tour in the States, bassist Cris O’Reilly left the band – and not entirely amicably. Back on home soil briefly, they’re heading across the Atlantic again very soon to take part in the Alternative Press Tour. Which means that tonight is not only one of the rare occasions the Leamington Spa band are back on English soil, but also marks one of the first gigs over here since the line-up change (original bassist Adam Lovelock helps out tonight). As such, the odd-shaped basement room of The Social is packed out and, despite (or perhaps because of) the fact they’ve been away for so long, there is a palpable sense of excitement in the room – the momentum that this band had before jetting off to the States definitely hasn’t diminished. Neither has the power of their music. Looking as effortlessly stylish as ever, their boisterous, forceful songs bounce off the walls from start to finish. They don’t play for a particularly long time, but the energy contained within the likes of ‘Trains’ and ‘Sweet Harness’ surges through the room. Infusing an old school rock’n’roll aesthetic and sound with a modern twist and a truly DIY attitude, this is the kind of music that British bands should be making – honest, raw and full of seething emotion. Live, especially in this small room, it bursts with vitality and exuberance, their recent line-up change not even having an effect on the intensity of the music or its performance. As such, tonight marks a very welcome return to the UK for Sharks and promises great things for their future. If only they spent more time over here… Mischa Pearlman | |
